UK seed investment held broadly flat in the first half of 2026, with deal counts within a few percent of the same period last year.\n\nMedian round size rose modestly, a pattern investors attribute to founders raising longer runways rather than to higher valuations. Pre-seed activity was softer, particularly outside London and the South East.\n\nSector mix continues to shift: climate and defence-adjacent hardware took a larger share of rounds, while consumer marketplaces fell to their lowest share in five years.
